Catching Birds
Walking around the yard taking these photos I also had Tyler wandering around with me....he has been doing that a lot this summer...roaming the yard with his head tilted slightly up and at a angle. Looks a bit ackward, like something is wrong with him or he has a cink in his neck. He has been walking around like this so often and for such long periods of time I'm sure the neighbors have noticed....he is simply doing what I'm doing, enjoying nature, in his very own 5 year old, almost 6 year old way....Trying to catch the birds! Seriously...for several weeks now. We have nests all over the yard so the birds fly low to get food or to get into their nests. It is a wonderful time of year and now also comical watching my dear son....and the cats...going after these beautiful creatures. Now the cats, that's another story...they perch on top of the playset bar that holds the swings....and the birds, I don't know if it is a boy or girl bird that does this but the birds circle the cat and the cat swipes with her front paws and then another bird swoops down and pecks the butt of the cat....over and over and over....I can sit on my porch holding my baby and be amused and at peace all day with the sweet mixture of beautiful nature paired with sweet kids.

I hope my kids remember their summers as a sweet time when things slow down and family and friends pull tighter to their roots and beliefs. A time to form tight friendships and deeper bonds, to enjoy life and learn a little bit about one's self.

With Vannessa's kids here this week our morning routine is pool by 8:30 a.m. mixed with a game of hoops and back to the pool to cool off....then lunch and a time to sit and chat. The day goes so quickly!

Took kids with their friends from school, Vicky and Annanaise to Hawaiian Falls with the church group. It was a great time..no one there so no lines and cheaper cost of admission. win win win!

Zachary's first time ever in a pool.
This is a first! Baby Zachary in his bumbo seat in the water in our backyard pool...being balanced by mommies feet while I take the photo. Just love his little swim trunks and swim shirt from Old Navy...his hat we got at Sea World from our trip there in April. Ohhhh he is so sweet!
